Phil has lived in Centerville for most of his life, shaped by the values and spirit of this great community. Educated locally, he learned teamwork and collaboration through athletics and built lasting roots that guide him today. Phil and his wife, Kathy, built successful careers in the Dayton area and raised their family there, giving them a deep understanding of what makes the region strong. Now, Phil sees the challenges facing our communities and state—and he’s ready to lead with integrity, vision, and a commitment to real solutions.
Proven Leadership
For nearly 40 years, Phil served as a senior Human Resources executive for some of Ohio’s most respected organizations, including Fifth Third Bank, Procter & Gamble, The Iams Company, and NCR. Throughout his career, he created outstanding work environments, guided employees through complex mergers and acquisitions, and built programs to develop future leaders.
Phil worked successfully with people at every level, fostering workplaces where everyone could bring their best self to work. His experience taught him that inclusive environments and a focus on individual strengths lead to innovation and success. Now, Phil is ready to bring that same approach to public service by working across party lines to build a stronger Ohio where every voice matters and every community thrives.
Lessons in Resilience and Community
When Phil’s son suffered a traumatic brain injury at 18, doctors gave him just a 4 percent chance of living a satisfactory life. During the hardest months that followed, Phil and his wife, Kathy, leaned on the support of family, friends, and, at times, complete strangers in the community. That outpouring of support was a powerful reminder of what makes Ohio great: its people and its sense of community.
Today, their son works, inspires others through motivational speaking, and lives a full, meaningful life. His family’s journey has reinforced Phil’s belief in perseverance, compassion, and the importance of showing up for one another when it matters most.
Now it’s Phil’s mission to give this same unwavering support back to the people of Ohio by amplifying their voices and advocating for their future.
